"Nina Hoss Set to Shine in Mariko Minoguchi's 'The Other Side'"
German actress Nina Hoss, renowned for her roles in acclaimed films such as "Phoenix" and "Barbara," is set to star in "The Other Side," an upcoming adventure thriller directed by Mariko Minoguchi. In the film, Hoss will portray Hanna, a doctor who retreats to the mountain wilderness during an epidemic to safeguard herself and others.
Recognized for her collaborations with director Christian Petzold, including standout performances in "Yella" and "Phoenix," Hoss also appeared alongside Cate Blanchett in Todd Field's Oscar-nominated film "Tár" (2022). Her television credits include a recurring role in Showtime's Emmy-winning series "Homeland" and Amazon's action-packed "Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan." Recently, she starred in Claire Burger's romantic drama "Langue Étrangère," which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, and Radu Jude's satirical gem "Do Not Expect Too Much From the End of the World," which competed at Locarno.
Mariko Minoguchi, following her acclaimed debut feature "Relativity," gears up for her next project, "The Other Side." "Relativity," a love story thriller with a twist, captivated audiences at the 2019 Munich Film Festival, earning accolades for its screenplay and debut feature at the German Film Critics Awards. "The Other Side," produced by Trini Götze and David Armati Lechner of Trimafilm, is slated for release in Germany by Berlin-based distributor X Verleih, with filming scheduled to commence this summer.
